I must say I have been fortunate to travel on a few cruises in the caribbean and I had so much fun on my trip with the Royal Caribbean, you see I love to dance and spent my evening dancing away doing the limbo on the decks, partying in the nightclubs and I also won $5000 in the casino onboard ! But what I remember the most from that trip is a story that I feel compelled to share with you right now because although I love to travel in luxury I will never forget those who are not presented with such opportunities. The next morning after winning the money I stopped at Puerto Rico and all of a sudden it started to rain it was just a tropical downpour quite refreshing in the caribbean heat. These rain spells usually last for half an hour or so in the caribbean. I was standing underneath a shelter and then two children came to me with a handmade umbrella made from a piece of cardboard and palm leaves. I asked them how much they wanted for this and they said I could keep it for free, that I was a guest to their island and so I must feel welcomed. I was so moved and touched with this that I spent a few hours with them and their mother and invited them to come with me to show me around Old San Juan I learned that the mother was keen to start a stall in Puerto Rico so I offered her my winnings. A year later she sent me a letter sending her thanks and that she had got her licence to start trading on her stall. The children were excited and named the stall “amanece regalo” which means “Dawns Gift” in latin Spanish. This brought more happiness to me than what any prize money could buy.
So moving on from my story..
